Since you've found us here, you must know Tenley's birth story already so we will continue from there. At 2am we were transferred from Labour & Delivery to Post Partum. Again I was so proud to be wheeled down the hallway with my little peanut in my arms. There weren't any single rooms available (BOOOO) but the shared room we were assigned to didn't have anyone else in it yet. We were set up with the bassinet, diapers and essentials and left to get some sleep. Curtis stayed for a little bit, but since there was nowhere for him to sleep, he went home to get some rest and bring the family back in the morning.
Tenley did really well. She nursed right from the get go. She slept lots as well. The only issue we encountered was that she would violently gag and choke when laying flat on her back. TERRIFYING! Thankfully the nurse was in the room when she did it and was able to rub her back and keep her from choking. The reason was because her delivery was so quick the mucus and amniotic fluid from inside didn't get squeezed out during birth so she was still choking on it. So since she had nursed well the nurse took her to the nursery to clean out her lungs and give me some time to sleep! This was about 4am and she brought her back around 6:30am to watch her feed! She latched well and was nursing well too! Much more success so far than with Hayden! YAY!
They brought me some breakfast… haha pic below! There was a veggie omelette under that platter! Tenley and I hung out for a bit and then tried to get some more sleep!
Mostly we were just anxiously awaiting our visitors who couldn't come until 11am. I finished calling family and friends during this time too! We didn't want to call and wake them in the middle of the night so we waited until first thing in the morning to finish up our calls!
Curtis has most of the hospital pics on his phone, as I was a little busy delivering a baby to take pictures HAHA! Will post more when he is home and I can upload them!
